Clik here to view.We all know that that having top quality content posted on a regular basis is extremely important when it comes to blogging. However with all the constant updating and coming up with ideas for your next post its very easy to forget about keeping your WordPress blog up to speed.
Luckily its very easy to get WordPress running smoothly and quickly, and it doesn’t take long to do. I have come up with these simple guidelines to help get your blog up to speed, this will also help improve your rankings in the search engines.
Improve the user experience
When was the last time you looked at someone else’s blog and it took ages to load and very very clumsy. I bet you didn’t hang around for very long. You certainly wouldn’t have subscribed to the RSS feed to come back later.
Its a proven fact, if your blog loads quickly then visitors will spend more time on your blog, and very likely they will subscribe to you and come back time and time again. The same facts show that most users will give a website at least 10 seconds to load and then leave before reading anything.
So what does that mean to you? well you probably spent hours creating your content and created nice images to go with it, only for your visitors to leave before they see it.
By increasing your site speed, you will be creating a much more user friendly experience for your visitors who will then most likely hang around more.
Its Quick, Simple and best of all Free
The internet is full of great resources for you to test and improve your websites speed. I will cover these in more details in the upcoming WordPress speed tips series, don’t forget to subscribe to this blog so that you don’t miss them.

Google recently announced that your page speed will be taken into account when ranking your websites pages. They are saying that page speed only affects about 1% of all your searches, but i can guarantee you they WILL increase this number in the not too distant future.(If they haven’t already) Making the net quicker
My last point in this post on WordPress speed is that you can take some comfort in knowing that by improving your page speed, your helping to improve the internet. A faster internet is a better internet, and one faster site is one more step towards a faster internet.
